14 people have escaped from Coronavirus quarantine centre in Gambia.

Gambia authorities reported yesterday that they are searching for 14 people who fled from the hotel where they are being quarantined as a corona virus precaution and escaped, health officials, said.

The aforementioned were said to be among 32 passengers who arrived on a flight from the UK on Wednesday and were placed in quarantine in the hotel located in the state capital Banjul.

Ahmadou Lamin Samateh the Health Minister in a statement broadcast on Thursday said that some quarantined passengers “apparently became aggressive,” broke down the hotel gates and ran away.

Ahmadou Lamin Samateh also dded that the incident was “very, very risky ” and created “panic for the entire Country ”.
