Indian man with coronavirus symptoms picked up at Dangote refinery in Lagos

An Indian contractor showing symptoms of the deadly coronavirus has been identified at the Dangote Refinery, Lagos.

The man who is a staff of one of Dangote’s contractors was coughing and running a high temperature on Monday. Doctors were immediately called in and the Indian was rushed to a hospital for testing and diagnosis.

Recall that Lagos reported its third case of the virus on Tuesday and there are fears the virus could spread.

A spokesman for Dangote firm, Tony Chiejina, confirmed the incident but maintained that the Indian was not an employee of Dangote.

He said the person was spotted during one of the routine medical checks at the refinery, adding that the case had not been confirmed. Meanwhile, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control said on Twitter that it was already investigating the matter.
